We will start by tracing the Romantic art movement of the 1800's and the amazing French artist who personified it,
Éugene Delacroix. The Romantics loved the emotional and the exotic. Through visuals, discussion and art exercises (or if you will, adventures), we will explore the French Romantic approach to art.
Later, we will jump into the beginnings of 20th century modern art with Henri Matisse. Here we will explore color, in all its bold glory. Along the journey, we will follow the times of great change in the lives of these very influential French artists.
Whether you choose to incorporate these elements in your own art, or prefer to just take a break and do a bit of time travel, this all-inclusive workshop will give you the opportunity for a Bon Voyage in French art.
